blockchain

If you still have the downloaded zipped folder for the blockchain, then extract files... you will find the peers.dat file that you can use to replace the deficient one. If you need to download the zipped folder, it can be found on cryptochain.com (http://cryptochainer.com/dir/?page_id=365).

Any admin on? Changed my laptop and reinstalled wallet, but its not loading, stopped at week 19 saying no block available

You can try the following: This link contains blockchain data from few days ago: https://onedrive.live.com/download?cid=2680E781C45BBECC&resid=2680E781C45BBECC!318&authkey=ALoybnRvFXyKz1o - Stop wallet, go to Reddcoin folder, delete everything -> except wallet.dat <- 😎 unzip file into this folder, start wallet again. Then it should try to connect and synchronize latest blocks

What is that friend?

Its a Chrome and Firefox extension with which you can register an ID on the reddcoin blockchain. You can then connect that ID to your social media such as Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and Reddit (more to be added). Then whenever you open those websites, you will notice a small 'tipbutton' next to where you normally find like and reply buttons and such... anyone connected to ReddID can then easily tip or receive tips for anything they like on social media!

That website doesn't seem accurate. Doesn't match with the official RDD blockchain explorer.

Michael B
Is that always true now that ReddID is live? Don't some stakes distribute fees from ReddID registrations?

Thats a good question 🤔 havnt heard of an unsuccesful stake there before, but i guess theoritically that could be the case.. 🤔 i would have to check with someone that actually understands the blockchain 😅

Chris
theoretical? it's scalable, based on the number of users we can expand the numbers of servers and services etc

No I’m not talking about the infrastructure for RDd ID but the capacity on the RDd blockchain itself as all the transfers have to be settled on the blockchain itself

Ben
Both layers have to have appropriate capacity and not act as a bottleneck to the other

correct on that one, the servers/services can be expanded, the max on the blockchain can't

This is my point, I’m actually more concerned about our blockchain capacity

Adm, can you please tell me, how to stake RDD?

Download the Reddcoin-Qt wallet, create your wallet with passphrase, download the blockchain history (automatic), move your RDD to the your Qt wallet address, unlock your wallet (staking only) and ... wait

On the frontlines of adopting blockchain technology 😎

and to be honest. we cant bypass all the banks. i think they will eventually be our private key holders.

I agree. But that is more about blockchain tech, not necessarily cryptocurrencies.Blockchain is quite revolutionary and the world is still learning and experimenting how best to use it.

Hi... will in future be able to change reddid's social accounts

We’re working right now on being able to reset the linkage between a given ReddID and your social network accounts. Trickier than you’d think because it’s invalidating a blockchain record, sort of, but yes, we certainly see the need.

I think users are important, of course. Without users, there is no product. But something has to light the fuse to let the bomb explode. Something has to introduce rdd to the main public, imho. Are there thoughts on how to achieve that?

I think your mistake is in thinking of it as a bomb exploding instead of a slowly growing wildfire. We are working more to support ongoing development to expand and enhance what the software does. You need to remember that despite dramatic prices and excitement of the last few years already, we are still in the very beginning infancy of this space. I spent last night at a blockchain meetup in NJ and found that of the thirty professionals in attendance, three of them had actually acquired any crypto or knew the very very basics to any useful degree. You, and all of us, are early to the game that will unfold over years to come. I have literally no doubt that coins like ours, with solid use cases and amazing communities will be among the few projects still standing and even flourishing as the world’s corporate culture strives to incorporate our tech.

Why are my total amount on live.reddcoin.com is lower than on my Windows wallet? Have only one receive adress as i can see....

That’s why it’s being rebuilt. Not only is it out of date but in some cases the staking payments aren’t calculated or added correctly. The blockchain and clients are obviously correct, the explorer has an issue. So we’re rebuilding it. Needs more functionality anyway.

@eyescoopsDotca There are multiple issues here, but in short, try removing and reinstalling the extension (and restoring with your wallet phrase). The blockchain should restore any stored data and the button should work again. We’re working on a number of aspects of that validation, including multiple social network id’s as you mentioned and the ability to reset or remove entries. For the moment, look at the available version as a proof of concept; changes being made are significant, and will be published as quick as we’re able to get us to a solidly performing v1. We’ve basically been working night and day for what feels like forever to get that done. We’re also almost done with a new block explorer to replace live.reddcoin.com and a lot more insight and info to the network. Good things coming.

my friend offered ono i don't know yet if this project is worth to invest in, i should to be careful now.

yes you are but if you're talking about ono then i think you should ask it on their community for a specific clarification of your problem. I've heard they already listed on kuCoin and they're like rdd, aiming to build social network based on blockchain.

Really? Hm how come desk top wallet has to be fully synced? Only reason not staking after electrical cost not worth it

Staking is active when blockchain is synchronized. Whats how it works. If you participate in network you secture network by confirming transacations

https://www.blockchain.com/de/btc/block/000000000019d6689c085ae165831e934ff763ae46a2a6c172b3f1b60a8ce26f

I would recommend to download blockchain snapshot so you dont have to wait days for synchronizing blockchain data 😉

hm, even with a 16GB sd card this should be no problem. Resizing of sd card after boot sequenz was also successful? 'df- h' on console should show up, how much space is left

Import the blockchain. 7 weeks to go💪💪 on the internet i see by the rdd wallet a nice icon on the desktop for the wallet. Hiw can i get this?

It's finished with the blockchain! But damn it is slow when you start it.... watching for 10 min right noe at the screen "loading "blok index"

its subconsciously manipulation and interest driven. no proof of pos being less secure. Their excuse of pow being secure makes no sense, You can run blockchain without pow and still make it secure. Its how you code it.

many dont understand blockchain and forcing them to understand and how it works is silly.

Nothing just to Sync with Blockchain

Kyle Hamrick
So is it not likely that we’ll receive the staking reward everyday? Some days it goes through and some days it just says generated, but somehow the block was rejected because of someone else? I don’t understand this. I thought I’d be paid for my stake daily? Can someone help me understand?

Hi Kyle,Let me see if I can help you with this.Staking is like a lottery. Each RDD you have is like a ticket in that lottery. With RDD a ticket is drawn every minute. That ticket wins the lottery. That's the simple idea but there are a few complexities when it comes to RDD and blockchain. Consider what would happen if 2 tickets were drawn at the same time, but you can only have 1 winner. Both would see a "generated" stake transaction, but only the winner would get that transaction "confirmed". The losing ticket would just be put back in the lottery for the next draw (1 minute later). This scenario can happen with blockchains because there really isn't a centralised person drawing the ticket, it's a network of many computers trying to work it out together. Now to address your concern regarding the daily stake. This comes down to how many RDD you have staking. If you have only say 100 RDD staking then you only have 100 tickets to the lottery. The lottery has say 12 billion tickets in total. Therefore it'll be very unlikely (frankly impossible) that you will win each day. However, if you have say 10 million RDD staking, then you have a greater chance of winning the staking lottery every day. Also keep in mind there is something called token age. This is considered to be how long coins in a wallet have been sitting idle without a transaction against the wallet. The age of your coins goes up very slightly for every block in the blockchain (every 1 min for RDD). The greater the token age, the more "weight" the coins have in the lottery. This then means that a wallet with say 100 RDD will eventually have such a large weight that it will actually win the staking lottery. In respect to token age, your coins must have aged/matured for a minimum of 8 hours before they can win the staking lottery. Finally, with RDD you will earn about 5% of your staked RDD per year. Having a failed stake (ie. staked transaction that stays in "generated" status), will not affect that 5% earn as your coins are immediately put back in the lottery to try to win again. If you are staking using the regular Reddcoin Desktop Wallet, then you can see the weight and other useful numbers in the bottom-right hand corner of the window... just move the mouse over the various icons there and you'll see the info.I hope that helps you to understand it.

Jopo Lovrinovic
Oo i see!! I just wasnt sure if it had to do with the amount of coins stacked aswell! Say i dont backup in 3 months and it crashes wouldnt i lose my coins stacked?

No you won't. The coins are recorded on the blockchain (which is on the network of computers around the world). You just need to have your wallet details so that you can access the blockchain and view/send/recieve coins.

Windows Desktop wallet?

You can try the following: download this zip file https://sourceforge.net/projects/reddcoin-blockchain-snapshot/files/x86-x64/rdd_blockchain_x86-x64.zip/download This archive contains latest blockchain data - Stop wallet, go to Reddcoin folder, delete everything -> except wallet.dat <- 😎 unzip file into this folder, start wallet again. Then it should try to connect and synchronize latest blocks

May I ask what you think about the vulnerability related to Reddcoin that someone posted on reddit?

As I posted in our slack, it doesn’t seem to apply to RDD. And even if it does, which I don’t think, it appears ths that paper shows a resource exhaustion condition (out of ram, out of disk), not an ability to make changes on the blockchain or hack the network. It’s more like “we can make your node fall over”. Ok. Reboot. Thanks. 😉Like I said l, though, even that doesn’t seem to apply to RDD.

M Α🍾
God will punish that hacker with some Biblical Shit. Death by Diarrhea. I doubt that the hacker took the small altcoins

Here is a revelation of what the hacker took. But the bitcoin blockchain has not been examined yet and other blockchains. Just the Ethereum blockchain has been examined. See below

That’s actually very close to how we’re moving all the existing ReddIDs from the “.tester” to the “.reddid” naming domain. Blockchain operations in which existing keys are all maintained, and we don’t have any of them. And all have cost on the blockchain. If you consider the intricacies there you’ll begin to realize why it’s not quite as easy as people think.
